Stamp-A-Stack
Just a quick note today to remind that our spring Stamp-A-Stack is coming up on April 25th. It will run from 1-4 pm at the Winchester golf club, and the registration fee is $30. We'll be making 12 cards (2 ea. of 6 designs) during that itme.
If you're interested in joining us, leave a comment here and I'll get in touch with you to arrange payment. I'll fill you in with all the details at that time. Spaces are limited and the only way to guarantee yours is to pay the entrance fee.

Fun in the Sun
Hi there! I hope you're enjoying this spring sunshine. It's divine.
I have a scrapbook spread to share with you today.
I forced myself to use a Creative Memories scrapbooking kit that I picked up about a year ago. It was a pity purchase (as a demonstrator, I can't leave someone else's event empty handed, because it bugs me when people do that to me.)
I think the paper colours are just way too soft for my liking. The embellishments that came with the kit were super hokey (same colours), so I couldn't bring myself to put them on the page. I opted instead to play with my new Silhouettes some more, and cut out a few shapes to put on the page. The background and photo mats are all CM. The embellishments are all cut from SU! paper. The eyelets in the photos are MakingMemories from Michaels.

2009-03-26 - it would appear my cat dumped a full glass of water onto this two page spread. I don't know whether to be pleased or upset. Back to the drawing board!

Sage Thanks
Hiya,
I've a fairly simple card for you today:
The card base is Sage Shadow, the focal point is Handsome Hunter, Sage Shadow, and Whisper White, and the paper band is Whisper White.
It's a riot of retired stamps though. The sentiment is from the retired set With Gratitude. The floral background was rolled with a jumbo wheel (name escapes me) in Versamark ink. The focal point is from Stippled Stencils; the background was stamped off in Sage Shadow ink (1/2 strength), and the flower stem was full-on Handsome Hunter. I added a wee half pearl to the centre of the flower. The paper band was run through my crimper to add a bit of texture to the card.

Girly butterfly
Hello card ladies!
Here's a little card I made for a girlie birthday:
The colours are Pink Passion and Certainly Celery. Polkadotted paper is from a 6x6 prints pack from SU! and the floral paper is open-stock Michael's paper. The Whisper White was punched with a Fiskars scalloped edge punch from Michael's. The sheer polka-dotted ribbon is from Michael's, and the ribbon slider is from the Styled Silver HodgePodge Hardware kit.
I had originally intended to put another bit of hardware at the bottom right corner of the focal point, but it looked clunky, so I left it off. As a result, the butterfly's swoop is too high up I think. It should point more towards the bottom corner. Anywho. I fuss about these things too much.
The butterfly is from Kind Thoughts (ret.), and the trail is from Flight of the Butterfly. And of course it has some Dazzlin' Diamonds glitter applied, because I LOVE GLITTER!

Campfire cooking
Sorry for the hiatus, I got sick (sick sick sick) for a week, and my papercrafting ground to a standstill. I've got a scrappy page to share with you though:
The best part about this page: the title! I bought a present for myself recently: A QuicKutz Silhouette. Ooooooooo. It cuts just about anything on your computer out of paper. SLICK. I've been playing with it quite a bit. It's a handy dandy little tool. Nothing on this page is from Stampin' Up!. I think that's a first. All the supplies are from various slabs purchased from Michael's. The camping-y stickers are from a camping page kit, and the ants were kindly donated by Nicole. She has a lot of ants.
Hope to have more Silhouette projects to share with you soon.

GoOfY
Hi again!
I've been scrapping again. I was playing with the Sunshine Garden Simply Scrappin' kit this past weekend. It's a subtle kit, I quite like the colours.
The background is a 12x12" of So Saffron cardstock. I trimmed a page of the striped double sided cardstock in the kit down to 10x10", and layered a 6 x 11" piece of Baja Breeze over top. The leftover 2" that I cut off the striped paper I flipped over and used the green side to highlight the title of the page. It's cut out of Whisper White cardstock using my new Naturally Serif Sizzix alphabet which I am madly in love with. I'm so glad I can run Sizzix dies and plates through my Cuttlebug!
The 2D flowers on the page are cardstock stickers that came with the kit. I added a large silk daisy from the Pretties kit, along with a felt flower from Accents and Elements Flower Fusion and a rhinestone brad, also from the pretties kit. Lastly, although it's probably faint for you to see, I stamped "You're Never Too Old To Do Goofy Stuff" from Smarty Pants. You can always click on the picture to see it up close.
Simple and sweet.

Nuttier than squirrel poo
Howdy hey neighborinos!
A scrappin' page for you today. This one... I'm not diggin' it so much. Love the title, love the photos, but the layout/colours are swirling the bowl.
*pause* *ponder*
Yep. It's just not doing it for me.
The striped background is a freebie from the 2009 Sale-A-Bration catalog (FREE STUFF ROCKS!). The blue is Brilliant Blue, the red is Real Red, and the tan is Sahara Sand. The alpha is my new Sizzix Naturally Serif alphabet that I ran through my Cuttlebug (love. It.)
It just didn't take root for me. Some days I think I should just stick to cards.
Oh, well. On to my next project!

Happy Birthday Mel!
This is a card I made for my little sister's birthday. Unfortunately I'm a complete dingbat, and didn't send it to her in time, but I hope she appreciates it all the same:
The colours are Taken with Teal, Soft Sky, and Whisper White. The stamp set is my beloved, retired Garden Silhouettes and the sentiment is from an old hostess set called...Warmest Regards I think? The main image has been stamped in Soft Sky and in Taken with teal, and a bit of the old Dazzle has been added to the blooms on the focal image. Oh, and the ribbon is a piece of White taffeta ribbon. The design was lifted and tweaked from a card I saw on SCS.

Leftovers
I tend to amass leftover cardstock, stickers, and ribbon bits from my various projects and can't bear to part with any of it. I recently re-organized the craft room and now all of my bits are filed and easily accessible. This card was made from scraps that I had on hand from another project:
Although I wish I could, I can't take credit for the design. The card base is Chocolate Chip cardstock and a 4 x 5.25" rectangle of Very Vanilla was layered over top. The vanilla was stamped in Baja Breeze ink using the hostess stamp set, Dream a Little. The Old Olive diamond print paper is left over from the Sunshine Garden Simply Scrappin' kit, as is the vanilla oval sticker. The sticker is stamped in Chocolate Chip using the Fundamental Phrases stamp set, and then it was mounted on an oval scrap of Old Olive cardstock which is layered on a rectangle of Baja Breeze. A strip of Chocolate Chip ribbon runs down the centre of the card, and a wee knot of the Chocolate Chip ribbon is attached above the sentiment with a Glue Dot.
Super cute.
If I had another sticker to do it over again, I think I'd centre the "THANKS" so that it overlapped the blue flower a bit. It looks wonky where it is right now.
